Halloween Jokes and Puns..... Send them in!

Halloween Fun with Pumpkin Puns

Grab your cauldron because it’s time to conjure up some Halloween hair-raising

fun with a few candy corn-ball puns!  Send in your favorite elementary

age-appropriate Halloween joke, pun or quote so we can cackle and howl with

laughter and wake up a few zombies!  We will share your jokes with our school

community via the classrooms, the Wildcat Blog and Wildcat Facebook page.

Let’s get this Pun Party started!

Oh, I’m on a pumpkin roll now…

Are you rolling your spooky eyes at me?

Here are a few dreadful examples:

Look for the submitted jokes and puns throughout the week!

Parent Teacher Conferences.... Virtually or Telephonically

Parent/Family/Teacher Conferences

Parent/guardian/teacher conferences will look different this year! Your child’s teacher will reach out to your family in the upcoming weeks to schedule a time for a virtual meeting. These will be held between November 6th and November 20th in the form of a virtual meeting or a phone call. If you need an evening virtual or phone conference, our teachers can accommodate you.

This is Me! First, Second and Third Grade - Writing

Students in first, second and third grade completed a brief bio, "All About A Fantastic Learner" and a self portrait, "This is Me!"

Mrs. Tuttle, Mrs. Petersen and Mrs. Thompson worked together to teach the students about biographies and self portraits.  The students' work are posted in primary end of the hallway for other students to see as they travel down the hallway.   See below for a snapshot of the entire banner and then two panoramic pictures for a little more detail.

We are SUPER proud of our ALL our Fantastic Learners - writers and artists!

Sorry, I cut the off half of the the happy learning brain holding up the banner.

Hope Halloween Fun - Looking different this year!

Hey Hope Families,

Let’s carve out some fun.  Yes, it’s true the Halloween festivities at Hope School will look different this year in order to adhere to LPOSD’s COVID Yellow Level of Operation. Boo! I know I’m sad too. However, each teacher will have some Halloween themed fun in their classroom on Friday, October 30th.  Orange you glad to hear that?  Your child’s teacher will share some secret details with you, or maybe just some festive details. This means no costumes and no parade at school, but we will still have a howling good time.   In lieu of wearing school colors on Friday the 30th, we encourage our students to wear Halloween colors of all black, or a combination of midnight black, pumpkin orange, scary glowing lime green and/or purple.  Yep, I’ve been informed that purple is a Halloween color!  We will all look Fa-BOO-lous in our Halloween colors. Thank you for continuing to help us stay safe while having a bit of fun!  Speaking of fun, send in your elementary school appropriate Halloween puns or jokes and we will share them at school, and/or on the Wildcat Blog and Wildcat Facebook page.  Lets see who is the Pun-King: How Do You Mend a Broken Jack-o'-Lantern?

With a pumpkin patch, of course!

Thanks so much.
Happy Howling Halloween

Successful First Week! Yahoo!!!

September 11, 2020

Dear Hope Wildcat Families,

On behalf of all our Hope School staff, I am very excited to say it’s been a great first week

of getting back to school under some very bizarre circumstances.   I am grateful for all

of your support in working with us to follow our LPOSD Covid Protocols for the “Yellow”

level of operation.  We are back in school and we want to stay in school!

We are still adjusting to our new schedules and each day we get better and better.

In the mornings please remember our school doors open at 7:50am and our whole

class instruction begins at 8:20am.   Our school day dismissal is at 1:00 pm.   While our

busses are loading at the playground end of the building, parents can pick up their

children at the front doors.  We have staff members ready to greet you and get your kids

out to you in quick fashion (again, each day we become more efficient).

If you need to call the school to change your child pick up plans, the earlier in the day

you call us the better.   If possible, please make these phone calls prior to 12:30pm.

It is difficult to answer last minute phone calls and get the changes to the appropriate

classrooms. In about a 10 minute time span we are getting 96 children to their designated

bus or car.  Please help us with this critically important transition.  We want ALL Hope

students to safely get where they need to go.

Some things we think are fun…  It is our culture to teach and promote kindness, safety,

responsibility, respect and school pride.   Each Wednesday we celebrate kindness by

wearing pink or red to help everyone to recognize the importance of being kind.   Get

your Pink on for Kindness! Red is an option for anyone who doesn’t prefer pink.   Each

Friday (or last day of the week because sometimes Friday is a day off), we wear our school

colors - green and white, or Hope School shirts or sweatshirts.  School Pride Fridays are

fantastic days that bring students and staff together by showing our Wildcat Pride

and connectedness.

As always, please feel free to contact our school, teachers, office staff or myself if you

have any questions or concerns.   We look forward to this school year being a fantastic

school year!  Thank you for the privilege and opportunity to work with you and your children.

Respectfully,

Sherri Hatley, Principal Hope School

Hope School Staff
