The past two Fridays our fourth grade class has been spending time coding their Sphero robots to make them perform various tasks. Students had to program or code the robots to move with precision (distance and direction) to get to 'a dart board' on the floor. Once the students had the basic part down then they were challenged by playing a dart game. Fourth graders work in teams of two or three to figure it all out.
Today's activity was to travel with in a 'track' with two 90 degree turns and stop precisely in the middle of the landing pad. A few students advanced to a more challenging pattern with three 90 degree turns and an additional stop to use the lights to flash a skull in the middle and then flash a heart at the end of the pattern.
