Kindergarten Autumn Field Trip

Kindergarten Fall Field Trip
Thursday, October 10, 2019

A note from Mrs. Shelton, Kindergarten Teacher:  As we begin our study of the amazing seasons, we will be making deeper connections to harvest and farming. To enrich this learning, our class visited a local farm and orchard on Thursday, October 10th.  The farm was Mountain Cloud Farm (on Spring Creek Rd. in Clark Fork). After we explored the harvest on the farm, we loaded back on the bus and drove to a local apple orchard (on Lightning Creek Rd.) to eat our picnic lunch and pick apples. We then took a nature walk to explore how animals and plants are preparing for the next season.  Below are several pictures of the fantastic Fall season!
Looks like a great day to be outside in the sunshine!

Thank you Mrs. Shelton for connecting learning inside the classroom our big, beautiful world outside the classroom!!!

Engineering in the Library.... Engineering Books, Engineering Application

Hope School Librarian, Cindy Kiebert, took some book knowledge and had students apply it!

Way to build some bridges ~ great connections for learning!

Mrs. Kiebert said,
"Friday in library the 6th graders starting building bridges. This will be a few weeks project. A contest of sorts...

The 4th and 5th graders started building skyscrapers and then we discovered we needed a plan B. Our structures turned into  'whatever you can get to stand up'....get it as high as you can and withstand the earthquake! It was fun!"

Beginning of the 2019-20 School Year

We are off to a great start and enjoying getting to know all our new students and reconnecting with our returning students.  So many have grown over the summer in height and maturity.  It is always so exciting to see them.  We, at Hope School, are looking forward to making this school a fantastic year with you and your children.

Here are a few pictures from the first two weeks school.
Each morning we start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance.
